Katie and Travis’ family – Columbus Ohio family photos

It’s hard to believe that I photographed Katie and Travis’ wedding five years ago now.  To see them with their two young children, you’d think they’d been parents forever.  The kids are the spitting image of Katie and Travis and it’s fun for me to see that since I know them only from the context of their wedding.  It’s also fun for me to see that Ryan loves to look at mommy and daddy’s wedding album.  Brings back memories!  And, it’s nice to make some new ones and have them photographed.  Especially bath time and snuggle-on-the-bed time.

Jess and Nick – Our Lady of Peace / Creekside Conference & Event Center wedding

Jess and Nick came to me as a referral from another photographer, and when I was told that the timeline would include a visit to the Value City Arena, I was really excited (well, admittedly, after the panic of being stuck in Buckeye football traffic wore off!).  I mean, who gets to go down on the floor where the Basketball Bucks play and have fun shooting hoops and taking pictures, unless, of course, you’re a Basketball Buck?!  Thanks to a groomsman, though, we did just that and it was just as fun as it sounds.  And, let me tell you – the view up into the stands from down on the floor is intimidating, even when the seats are empty, so I can’t imagine having to perform when the place is hopping!

So, after that photo jaunt, we headed over to Creekside, which was beautifully lit and still had nice fall color, and then enjoyed a super fun reception at the Creekside Conference and Event Center.

Devon’s Hilliard-Darby senior pictures – Topiary Park, Columbus Ohio

A year or so ago, I volunteered for the annual spring fund drive for my favorite radio station, WCBE.  I got to meet all the awesome radio personalities and help donors give up their hard-earned dollars to benefit the station.  When the general manager of the station contacted me recently about photographing his daughter’s senior pictures, I was honored to say yes!

I really enjoyed meeting and photographing Devon.  When I met up with her and mom Renee at the Topiary Park, they’d had the van loaded up with all kinds of goodies that would help show Devon’s interests and personality.  From Jane Austen to her multiple musical instruments, we had a great time covering all the bases.

I don’t do a whole lot of senior shoots, but I like to think I approach them differently than the “mills”, so if you’re interested in something unique for your graduating senior, give me a ring!
