Every fall, I photograph Melissa and Tom’s lovely family. This year, when Melissa contacted me to set up our session she sent me an idea she’d found to shoot the kids on a bed in the middle of a Christmas tree farm. I liked the way it sounded, and I love the way it looks. And, I have to say, bribing the kids with cookies and milk was perfect!
I met Julie via e-mail, as most bride “meetings” happen. We chatted at length over the phone since she and Kevin live in Oklahoma, and we hit it off immediately. Julie is as sweet as they come with a very large and very loving family, and Kevin clearly loves her very much. We had a gorgeous day for their wedding at The Blackwell, which started with pictures at Orton Hall and the ‘Shoe, and ended with a fun reception where the love of family was celebrated. It was a lovely, lovely day.
It’s that time of year again, fall leaves, pumpkins and condoms. Condom Couture 2013 is the sixth annual fundraiser by Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio and my (and my friend Karen’s) fourth time photographing it. The event – held at Shadowbox Theater – gets better every year, with many many standouts. For the uninitiated, Condom Couture features runway garments – each made with hundreds and hundreds of condoms – created by local fashion design students. Seeing the outfits walk the runway you would never guess they were made of condoms. And the cause couldn’t be better – protecting the provision of important and affordable health services for Central Ohio women – and the event couldn’t be any more fun.
