Kathleen and Casey chose the Priory and Small Theatre at The Columbus Athenaeum as the backdrop for their wintry wedding and it was oh so lovely. The weather wasn’t very cooperative, as it rained most of the day and was cold, but we were nice and toasty inside – at least until we did a sparkler exit, which turned out beautifully despite the drizzle. It was a fabulous day, filled with the love of family and friends – a great precursor to Christmas!

I love it when my clients invite me into their home to take pictures of them being themselves in their natural habitat. Such was the case on a cold, snowy morning with Lisa and Caleb. We hung out at their house where they like to snuggle on the couch and read in bed, and then we braved the cold to make some snowy pictures around the neighborhood, including on the tree swing in some random neighbor’s yard. Barb is a friend of a photographer friend of mine, who, I’m told, said to Barb that she needed to hire me photograph her wedding. So Barb called me up on the phone one day and did just that. The referrals don’t get any better than this, and I was honored and flattered to be thought of so highly!
So, what can I say about Barb and Cory? First, they have to be about two of the sweetest, most in love couples I’ve met. That they adore each other needs not be said – all it takes is one look at them together in these pictures or in person to see how smitten they are with each other. And their families and friends love them to pieces as well.
The wedding and reception took place at the Bluestone, the old Baptist church converted to event space, and was a totally laidback affair with s’mores and donuts instead of cake for the guests. Have a look.
