I bet you think this post will be about golf. Actually, it might be in text, but not in images. Last week I photographed a Muirfield member’s birthday party at the club; almost 50 of his closest friends were in attendance for a day of golfing and then cocktails and dinner. The pictures I’m choosing to show, however, were from the cocktail hour where one of the guest of honor’s friends, a quite masterful magician, wowed the crowd with his sleight of hand with a deck of cards.
Jerry contacted me about photographing his wedding because he’d been a guest at and had seen the pictures I’d made of Megan and Kevin’s wedding a few years ago. I actually just photographed Megan and Kevin’s twin girls, not even a month before photographing Jerry and Jessica’s wedding at their home in Fredericktown, Ohio. It was a beautiful drive out there on an even more beautiful day – picture-perfect in fact, with brilliant blue skies, white puffy clouds and warm temperatures. The ceremony took place in the huge yard where guests sat on cloth-covered hay bales. There was a hog roast and a country band. And love. Lots and lots of love. Check it out.
I always love photographing multiple events or weddings for the same family, this one being for Erin, who is the sister of Chris whose wedding to Elizabeth I photographed a few years ago now. Seeing a lot of the same people is enjoyable and meeting the new family is a treat as well. Erin and Greg live in Virginia but came back to Columbus for their wedding at St. Mark’s in Upper Arlington with a beautiful reception at Dock 580 in the Smith Brothers building downtown. We hit up the Short North for photos and, of course, no stop there is complete without eating our way through Jeni’s.
