Melissa and Tom’s Maternity Session

Two days after my return from the workshop, I spent some time with Melissa and Tom shooting some cool belly pictures to celebrate the impending birth of their first child, a daughter. As with Melissa and Tom’s engagement session, again we headed to their bedroom and included their pets. I got some great shots with the dogs, not to mention all the great shots of Melissa and Tom together and some of Melissa alone.

It was great to see them again and see some of the really awesome improvements they’d made to their home since my last visit, including hanging some of their wedding pictures in their family room!

Here are some shots from our fabulous session:

According to Tom, Lily WILL be a Browns fan!

Congratulations, Melissa and Tom! I look forward to meeting Lily!

Thanks, Tyler! I certainly was hearing your voice in my head when I shot it!

Sarah and Michael’s Maternity Session

Before I left for the workshop, I spent some time with Sarah and Michael shooting their maternity session. Sarah, as you may remember, was one of my 2005 brides and she is the owner of You’re Invited (www.youre-invited.net), an awesome invitation business. Things are going very well for Sarah in her business and she and Michael are excited to welcome their son, Dominic, into the world.

I went to their house where we got some fabulous shots – some of Sarah by herself and some really intimate shots of the two of them together. I love what we got and feel very fortunate to be able to continue our great friendship in this way.

Here are a few of my very many favorites from our session:

These are Sarah and Michael’s own baby shoes they wore when they were tiny little babes!

Congratulations, Sarah and Michael! I can’t wait to meet Dominic!!

Workshop

Wow. And do I mean wow! I’ve returned from my weeklong workshop in Dallas but I’m still processing everything I learned and all the experiences I had. Life-changing experiences, too. I’d heard it would be like that, but you never know how you’ll react once you’re in the throes of it, but I have to say – life-changing it was. From the absolutely crazy amazing talent of the photographers there and how welcoming and supportive and friendly they all were, to the people who were the subjects of my assignments, it all was more than I can adequately put into words right now. The past week truly was inspiring on a multitude of levels.

So, for right now, I’ll leave it at that, but check back because once I get my feet back on the ground I’ll be posting some images from my two-day assignment at McKinney Fire Station #4.

Yay!
