Elaine and Mark

On November 15, I had the extreme pleasure of photographing the Big Greek Wedding of Elaine and Mark at the Greek Annunciation Church in Dayton. I was lucky to have Melissa come down from Michigan to shoot this with me, along with my friend and fellow local photographer Kevin Keefer. Despite the ugly weather, we had a fantastic time with Elaine and Mark and everything was just beautiful. There are many favorites from this one, so enjoy the show!

We started with the rehearsal dinner the night before at the Dayton Country Club, which is very old and, I hear, haunted.

On the wedding day, we arrived early enough to be able to capture the cake being assembled. It was gorgeous!

Last minute groomsman adjustments.

I absolutely love this detail shot of Elaine’s dress and ring.

The crowns and candles.

Mark and his parents walked up the aisle together. I really liked that.

Elaine’s mom greeting grandma.

Melissa got this awesome shot of the flower girl being lined up for her grand entrance.

Melissa took this fisheye shot of the sanctuary. The place was magnificent.

Elaine’s sister during the ring ceremony.

I love this shot. I was lucky enough to get to stand at the front.

Mark’s dad gave a hilarious toast.

Just look at the way he looks at her.

Now, onto the dancing and money-throwing! Grandma was the first one out of her seat!

Open wide!

The Greek band was awesome. The music was really great and these guys were hilariously funny. Notice, if you can, the Home Depot sticker on the back of his instrument.

A quiet dance.

Congratulations, Elaine and Mark!!

The photos are great. You captured the joy, happiness and beauty of the rehearsal and wedding.

Erika and Jeremy

Last Saturday, Tracie and I got to spend the day with Erika and Jeremy at their beautiful wedding. Considering it was November 1 and in the low 70’s, we certainly didn’t have the weather we were expecting for that time of year. The ceremony and reception were in the Palm House at Franklin Park Conservatory and it was nice and balmy! This was my first occasion shooting there since they installed the new lighting and it was absolutely gorgeous and really highlighted the elegant theme of Erika and Jeremy’s wedding. Here are some of my favorite images from their day:

Starting at the salon in Dublin

In the newly renovated getting-ready room at Franklin Park. Very nice. This is not the bride, but the bridesmaid Colleen who will be married later in the month. Colleen and I used to work together so it was nice to see her and her fiance, who also works with Colleen.

Noshing before nuptials.

Fun with the sewn-in dress hangers.

Our handsome groom.

Some portraits prior to the ceremony.

I love the intense blue of the evening sky shining through the ceiling.

The cocktails area had this fabulous mirror set up at an angle and it made for some fun distorted shots.

Some very cool details.

Everyone intently watching Erika’s dad’s speech.

The cake was gorgeous.

Fun dancing and playing with the ceiling lights.

Congratulations, Erika and Jeremy!!

Holiday cards!

Amazing how time flies, but now’s a good time to start thinking about holiday cards. Lots of great options, from beautiful watercolor paper to photo cards. Put those great wedding or engagement images to use by sending them in a lovely card to your friends and loved ones. Don’t delay! The holidays will be here before we know it!
