Alison and Jared – Columbus Athenaeum reception

After what I’m sure was a beautiful beach wedding in the magnificent climate of Mexico in February, Alison and Jared returned home to host a rockin’ reception in the Large Theatre at The Columbus Athenaeum, one of my all-time favorite venues.  Ryan Smith was the DJ – LOVE him! – and he brought his awesome talent, tunes and very cool light kit; and of course there were the adorable cupcakes made by my friend Christina of Bella Luna.

Alison and Jared really know how to throw a party, and their friends and families were just a blast to work with and to photograph.  Here’s the proof:

Columbus Bride Magazine Spring 2011 Issue

It’s that time of year again – the newest issue of Columbus Bride magazine is out on the newsstands (or at least available at my house, where the delivery guy dropped a gigantic box today).  And, as usual, I’m excited to report that a number of images of my clients are featured.  I’m always very happy for my clients’ 15 minutes of fame, and love it when they get a Featured Wedding or a large spread that introduces a particular section of the magazine.  Especially when they head up the Photography section and have the fabulous headline of “Simply the Best”.  Even though I’m smart enough to know that headline is not referring specifically to me, I’m going to act like it is because it makes me feel really good!  So there.

Here is my ad (on pg. 153), and the images of my fabulous clients, Jeni and Robbie, Hannah and Kurt, Summer and Dustin, and Katherine and Chris.  Congratulations to all of you!!

Cakes for a Cause 2011 – Mid-Ohio Foodbank

On March 1, I was fortunate to be the photographer for the second annual Cakes for a Cause auction benefiting Mid-Ohio Foodbank.  As last year, uber-organizers Emilie Duncan and Kasey Conyers put together an elegant and fun event utilizing the cake-baking and dessert-making talents of local pastry artists, who did their magic so guests could bid on the delectables silently and otherwise, with all proceeds going to provide meals to the hungry through Mid-Ohio Foodbank where the event was held.  (How’s THAT for a run-on sentence??)

The bid-upon goodies were astounding, worthy of Cupcake Wars or Food Network Challenge, and a lot of money was raised to help feed people who have fallen on hard times and struggle to put food on the table.  I’m so thrilled to have been able to lend my own special talents to this very deserving event.

So, now, enjoy some pictures and prepare to drool!
