When I met Kathy and Andrea to chat about their wedding, it was as if we’d known each other forever. You know, the conversation flows like you’ve only been parted for a short time instead of having just met minutes before. We were the perfect fit in every way, with their wedding being the type I love – unconventional, intimate, full of love.
I met them in the bar at The Joseph, where they shared a beer, then we wandered the lobby and public spaces making a few portraits. Our next journey was to tour the Short North, where Pride weekend was already kicking into high gear. Back to The Joseph for some rest in their hotel room before the limo with their friends and poochies came to pick us up to take us to North Bank Park for what I’m calling a “pop-up ceremony”: North Bank Park being notoriously strict on scheduling the park for a wedding, it turns out you can just show up and do whatever you want, including getting married, as long as your entire party is fewer than 12 people. Who knew? More portraits, another limo ride, more Joseph lobby, done. It was wonderful. Have a look.
