When your niece gets married and you’re a wedding photographer, you photograph her wedding. When your niece gets married and you live close to the wedding venue, you host her and her maids for their getting ready. Can’t say in the 13 years I’ve been shooting weddings that I’ve ever started the day shooting in my own house. Certainly made for a short commute, though, so no complaints. Plus, Murray and Hildy got to participate and get lots of loving throughout, especially Hildy.
So, we started at my house and then made the quick trip over to the Amelita Mirolo Barn on what was the hottest day of the year so far. My past wedding clients, since ordained, performed the lovely ceremony on the barn’s patio, and then we all had a blast making some crazy portraits in the surrounding park, followed by a lovely reception catered by City Barbecue (my fav!) and featuring heartfelt and touching parent dances. And, of course, my great nephews, cuter than cute in their little outfits.
Also, Melissa did all the calligraphy on the adorable signs for their wedding and you should hit me up to hit her up to have her do yours. Have a look.
