Stephanie and Jon were married at Our Lady of Victory in Marble Cliff on a blustery April day, with heavy skies and threatening rain. I started with Stephanie at her parents’ beautiful old home in Canal Winchester before we headed to the church, while photographer extraordinaire and partner in crime Eunice started with the guys at the Renaissance hotel downtown.
Our plan to tour Scioto Mile for photos after the ceremony was scrapped because, by that time, it really was raining, and the wind was so bad that nobody’s hair – not even the most bride-ly lacquered coif – would survive. At the last minute, it was decided we’d try the State House, which, as luck would have it, was not busy at all, either with tourists or other wedding parties, so we had the run of the place. We found lots of nooks and crannies in which to shoot, with gorgeous giant windows and a room full of red velvet furniture. (What are those legislators doing in there anyway??)
Then it was on to The Columbus Athenaeum and their Small Theater for the reception. The Athenaeum is my very favorite wedding venue. It is historic and lovely and everyone there does such an outstanding job taking care of everyone. It’s a gem.
