Back when Randy and HL and I decided to work together, it was our hope that, by the time the wedding rolled around in September, same-sex marriage would be the law of the land. As luck would have it, that gift came early, in June. Which, of course, made Randy and HL’s marriage all the more special, as if that were even possible with two such lovely people and their joyous and supportive friends and family.
It was a day full of love and laughter and lots of tears – not only from the participants in the day, but everyone involved, including myself. I often get teary at weddings – in fact, at every wedding – but I NEVER have actual tears running down my face. Basically, I was pretty much a wreck. Thank goodness for auto-focus, is all I gotta say.
My faithful companion and fabulous photographer Eunice and I started with Randy and HL at their church, Broad Street United Methodist, with a touching ceremony, complete with lots of music and singing, and then it was on to Scioto Reserve Country Club where we made some portraits outdoors and then were treated to not one, but three very special performances by Lady Vee, and ended the night with a wish lantern send-off. All brought together by the talented Emilie Duncan of Emilie Duncan Event Planning.
Have a look.
