Sometimes in my job as a photographer I get to do some pretty unusual things. I’d count touching an actual human brain as one of those activities, without question. I got to do that last week at COSI’s weekly After Dark event where the OSU Wexner Medical Center had tables manned by med school students who explained to visitors varying functions of the brain and allowed them to touch and hold the specimens as well. My job, of course, was to photograph the interactions, but when you get to an event early you sometimes get to play along. And, when I was finished, I took a test of my memory function and scored a perfect 100. So there.
